Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Handle with care to avoid damage.

  1. Choose location: Select area with maximum sunlight exposure, minimal shading.
  2. Mounting: Use compatible mounting brackets (not included). Secure to roof or ground mount using M8 bolts.
  3. Orientation: Tilt angle 15-40 degrees for optimal performance (varies by latitude).
  4. Spacing: Maintain minimum 10cm clearance around panel for ventilation.
  5. Grounding: Connect frame to grounding system using provided grounding lug.

WARNING! Do not install during inclement weather. Use proper safety equipment. Panels are heavy; lift with care.

First-Time Setup

After mounting, connect to your solar system.

  1. System compatibility: Ensure charge controller/inverter matches panel specifications.
  2. Electrical connection: Connect positive (+) and negative (-) MC4 connectors to corresponding cables.
  3. Series/parallel: Configure multiple panels as needed for system voltage/current requirements.
  4. Verify connections: Ensure all connections are secure and weatherproof.
  5. Initial test: Monitor system voltage and current to confirm proper operation.

CAUTION! Cover panel with opaque material during connection to prevent electrical shock. Disconnect all power sources before working on system.

Specifications

Controls and Connections

Panel has no active controls. All connections via junction box.

Junction Box: Contains bypass diodes, positive (+) and negative (-) terminals with MC4 connectors.

Labeling: Specifications label on back of panel includes electrical parameters, serial number, certifications.

Grounding: Grounding lug located on frame for safety grounding connection.

Connecting to System

Connect to charge controller, inverter, or other panels.

  1. Turn off all system components before connecting.
  2. Series connection: Connect positive of one panel to negative of next to increase voltage.
  3. Parallel connection: Connect positives together and negatives together to increase current.
  4. Use appropriate gauge wiring based on system current and distance.
  5. Protect connections with weatherproof covers.

Tip: Use combiner boxes for multiple panel arrays. Install fuses/breakers as required by local codes.

Performance Monitoring

Monitor output to ensure optimal performance.

  1. Regular checks: Monitor voltage and current during peak sunlight hours.
  2. Expected output: Approximately 180-250 watt-hours daily (varies by location and season).
  3. Cleaning: Keep surface clean for maximum light absorption (see Maintenance section).
  4. Shading: Avoid partial shading which significantly reduces output.
  5. Temperature: Performance decreases slightly at higher temperatures.

WARNING! Do not attempt to measure current with multimeter in current mode while panel is connected to load - can damage meter.

Safety Features

Bypass diodes: Minimize hot spots and power loss from shading. Frame grounding: Provides path for lightning/surge protection. IP67 rating: Protects against water and dust ingress.

Care & Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Cleaning: Use soft cloth or sponge with mild soap and water. Rinse with clean water.
  2. Frequency: Clean every 3-6 months, more frequently in dusty areas.
  3. Inspection: Check for physical damage, loose connections, corrosion.
  4. Snow removal: Use soft brush - do not use sharp tools or hot water.
  5. Vegetation: Trim nearby trees/plants to prevent shading.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive materials, harsh chemicals, or high-pressure water. Do not walk on panel. Perform maintenance during cool, overcast conditions.
