Specifications

Positioning & Alignment

Optimal performance requires correct solar panel orientation.

Northern Hemisphere: Face panel true south. Southern Hemisphere: Face panel true north.

Adjust tilt angle seasonally: - Summer: 10-20 degrees from horizontal. - Spring/Fall: 30-40 degrees. - Winter: 50-60 degrees (for higher sun path).

Tip: Use the Blink app battery level as a guide—if level drops, adjust panel for more direct sun.

Operation & Charging

Once installed, the solar panel operates automatically.

  1. Charging Indicator: Open Blink app, select doorbell, check battery icon (lightning bolt indicates charging).
  2. Daylight Charging: Panel converts sunlight to power whenever exposed.
  3. Battery Maintenance: In optimal conditions, panel maintains doorbell battery at 80-100%.
  4. Low-Light Conditions: Charging reduces on cloudy days; battery may drain if insufficient sun for extended periods.

Note: The solar panel is designed to maintain charge, not rapidly recharge a fully depleted battery.

Maintenance & Care

Periodic cleaning ensures maximum efficiency.

  1. Unplug cable from doorbell before cleaning.
  2. Wipe panel surface with soft, damp cloth to remove dust, pollen, bird droppings.
  3. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or high-pressure water.
  4. Inspect cable monthly for cracks or damage.
  5. In snowy areas, gently brush snow off panel to restore charging.

CAUTION! Never spray water directly onto connectors. Do not disassemble the panel.

Safety Information

Read all safety instructions before installation and use.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Do not open enclosure. Discontinue use if enclosure is damaged.
