Safety Instructions

Read all safety warnings before use. Failure to follow instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or injury.

  1. Do not use if meter or test leads are damaged.
  2. Do not measure voltages exceeding 600V DC/AC RMS.
  3. Use proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.
  4. Do not use in explosive atmospheres or wet conditions.
  5. When measuring current, always connect in series with load.
  6. Replace battery with correct type and rating.

WARNING! High voltage can cause serious injury or death. Use extreme caution when working with live circuits.

First-Time Setup

Prepare the multimeter for first use.

  1. Insert battery: Open battery compartment, install 9V battery (PP3 type).
  2. Attach test leads: Insert black lead into COM jack, red lead into VΩmA jack.
  3. Turn on: Rotate function switch to desired measurement function.
  4. Test operation: Set to resistance, short test leads; display should show near 0Ω.

CAUTION! Ensure meter is off when connecting test leads. Verify battery polarity.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Rotary Switch: Selects measurement function (OFF, V⎓, V~, A⎓, A~, Ω, diode/continuity, capacitance).

Display Symbols: "AC" or "DC", "OL" (overload), "H" (hold), battery low, unit indicators (V, A, Ω, nF, µF).

Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/current up to 200mA), 10A (current up to 10A).

Buttons: HOLD (data hold), SELECT (function toggle, e.g., AC/DC), LIGHT (backlight).

Measurement Procedures

General steps for accurate measurements.

  1. Voltage: Set to V⎓ or V~, connect leads in parallel to circuit.
  2. Current: Set to A⎓ or A~, connect leads in series with circuit. Use 10A jack for >200mA.
  3. Resistance: Set to Ω, ensure circuit is de-energized, connect across component.
  4. Continuity: Set to diode symbol, buzzer sounds for resistance <70Ω.
  5. Diode Test: Set to diode symbol, red lead to anode, black to cathode; typical forward voltage 0.5-0.8V.
  6. Capacitance: Set to capacitance, discharge capacitor first, connect leads.

Tip: Start with highest range if unknown value. Ensure correct jack selection for current measurements.

Special Functions

Data Hold: Press HOLD to freeze reading; press again to release.

Auto Power-Off: Meter turns off after 15 minutes; press any button to wake.

Relative Measurement: Not available on basic model.

Backlight: Press LIGHT to illuminate display; turns off after 10 seconds.

Battery Replacement

Replace battery when low battery symbol appears.

  1. Turn meter off and disconnect test leads.
  2. Remove screw from battery compartment cover.
  3. Replace old 9V battery with new one (PP3 type).
  4. Replace cover and screw.

WARNING! Do not mix old and new batteries. Dispose of old battery properly.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with dry cloth only. Store in dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or water. Keep away from magnetic fields.
