Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all components are present and undamaged.

  1. Mount the controller: Choose a dry, well-ventilated location away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  2. Connect battery first: Connect battery terminals observing correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative).
  3. Connect PV panels: Connect solar panel cables to PV input terminals.
  4. Connect load: Connect DC load wires to load output terminals if needed.
  5. Connect temperature sensor: Plug sensor into dedicated port and attach to battery.

WARNING! Always connect battery before PV panels to prevent damage. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the controller; follow LCD prompts for initial configuration.

  1. Set battery type: Press SET button, navigate to battery type menu, select appropriate type (Gel, AGM, Flooded, Lithium).
  2. Configure charging parameters: Set bulk/absorption voltage, float voltage, and equalization voltage based on battery specifications.
  3. Set load control: Configure timer settings for automatic load on/off if required.
  4. Set system voltage: Confirm system voltage (12V/24V auto-detect).

CAUTION! Incorrect battery settings may damage batteries. Refer to battery manufacturer specifications.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access settings via front panel buttons: SET, UP, DOWN, ENTER.

LCD Display Sections: PV voltage/current, battery voltage/state of charge, load status, error codes.

Menu Structure: Battery type, charging parameters, load control, system settings, information display. Battery Settings: Type selection, voltage settings, temperature compensation. Load Settings: Timer control (1-15 hours), manual on/off. System Settings: Language, LCD backlight timeout, factory reset.

Connecting Devices

PV Panels: Connect to PV+ and PV- terminals. Battery: Connect to BAT+ and BAT- terminals. Load: Connect to LOAD+ and LOAD- terminals.

  1. Ensure all power sources are off before making connections.
  2. Use appropriate cable sizes based on current ratings (minimum 4mm² for 30A).
  3. Install fuses on battery positive connection (40A recommended).
  4. Connect temperature sensor for optimal charging performance.

Tip: Keep cable runs as short as possible to minimize voltage drop.

Operation Modes

Supports multiple charging stages for battery health and longevity.

  1. Bulk Charging: Constant current charging until battery reaches absorption voltage.
  2. Absorption Charging: Constant voltage charging to fully charge battery.
  3. Float Charging: Maintains battery at optimal voltage without overcharging.
  4. Equalization Charging: Periodic overcharge to balance battery cells (for flooded batteries only).
  5. Load Control: Automatic or manual control of connected DC loads.
  6. MPPT Tracking: Continuously adjusts to extract maximum power from PV panels.

WARNING! Do not disconnect battery during charging. Equalization should only be used with flooded batteries.

Protection Features

Overcharge Protection: Automatically stops charging when battery is full. Over-discharge Protection: Disconnects load when battery voltage is too low. Short Circuit Protection: Automatic shutdown and reset. Reverse Polarity Protection: Prevents damage from incorrect connections. Overload Protection: Limits output current to protect controller and wiring. Temperature Protection: Reduces charging current at high temperatures.

Maintenance & Care

Regularly check connections for tightness and corrosion. Clean dust from ventilation slots. Monitor battery performance through LCD display.

CAUTION! Disconnect all power sources before performing maintenance. Do not open controller casing; no user-serviceable parts inside.
