Installation

Unpack and inspect all components. Ensure installation site has adequate sun exposure and structural support.

  1. Mount collector: Secure frame to roof or ground mount facing south (Northern Hemisphere).
  2. Install storage tank: Place in a protected area near existing water heater.
  3. Connect plumbing: Link collector to tank with insulated pipes; install pressure relief valve.
  4. Electrical connection: Connect controller to power supply and sensors.
  5. Fill system: Add heat transfer fluid and purge air from circuits.

WARNING! Installation must be performed by qualified personnel. Ensure all connections are pressure-tight.

First-Time Setup

Power on the controller; follow initial configuration steps.

  1. Set language: Press MENU, select Language, choose ENGLISH (default).
  2. Set temperature limits: Adjust maximum tank temperature (recommended 60°C/140°F).
  3. Configure frost protection: Enable auto mode for temperatures below 5°C (41°F).
  4. Test pump: Manually activate pump to ensure proper circulation.
  5. Calibrate sensors: Verify temperature readings match actual values.

CAUTION! Do not exceed maximum pressure rating. Check for leaks after filling.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access functions via digital controller. Front Panel: POWER, MENU, UP/DOWN arrows, ENTER, PUMP MANUAL.

Controller Display: Shows collector temperature, tank temperature, pump status, error codes.

Menu Options: Temperature setpoint, Frost protection on/off, Timer settings, System reset, Language selection. Settings: Adjust differential temperature for pump activation (default 8°C), maximum temperature limit, backup heater schedule.

Connecting to Water System

Integrate with existing cold water supply and hot water distribution.

  1. Turn off main water supply and drain existing heater if necessary.
  2. Connect cold water inlet to tank input port.
  3. Connect hot water outlet to household plumbing.
  4. Install isolation valves for maintenance.
  5. Select input via controller for solar-only or hybrid mode.

Tip: Use Teflon tape on threaded connections to prevent leaks.

Operation

Automatic operation based on temperature differential.

  1. Normal operation: Pump activates when collector is 8°C warmer than tank.
  2. Temperature monitoring: View real-time temperatures on controller.
  3. Backup heating: Electrical element engages if solar heating insufficient.
  4. Manual override: Press PUMP button to force circulation.
  5. Timer function: Set pump operation for specific times if needed.

WARNING! Do not touch collector during sunny periods—surface extremely hot.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Monthly: Check for leaks, clean collector glass.
  2. Annually: Inspect fluid level and quality, check pump operation.
  3. Every 3-5 years: Replace heat transfer fluid, inspect seals.
  4. As needed: Descale heat exchanger if water hardness is high.

CAUTION! Always depressurize system before servicing. Use protective gloves.

Safety Information

High temperatures and pressures present burn and explosion hazards.

WARNING! System contains hot liquid under pressure. Service by qualified personnel only.
