Installation

Unpack and verify contents. Ensure the installation environment is clean, dry, and within specified temperature limits.

  1. Mounting: Secure the device to a panel or DIN rail using the provided brackets. Ensure adequate space for wiring and ventilation.
  2. Electrical Connections: Remove the terminal cover. Connect power (24V DC) to terminals +V and GND. Connect analog output and relay outputs to respective terminals as per wiring diagram.
  3. Sensor Connection: Connect the process sensor (e.g., pressure transducer) to the dedicated sensor input terminals.
  4. Communication Wiring: For RS-485, connect A (+), B (-), and GND terminals to the network bus, observing polarity and termination requirements.

WARNING! Disconnect power before making any electrical connections. Ensure wiring complies with local electrical codes. The device contains electrostatic-sensitive components; handle with appropriate precautions.

First-Time Setup

Apply power. The device performs a self-test (all display segments illuminate briefly).

  1. Select Measurement Parameter: Press MENU, navigate to "PArA" (Parameter), use UP/DOWN to select Pressure (PrES), Temperature (tEMP), or Flow (FLo). Press ENTER to confirm.
  2. Set Engineering Units: In the "Unit" menu, select bar, °C, l/min, etc.
  3. Configure Outputs: Navigate to "oUt1" (Analog Output). Set the 4mA and 20mA values corresponding to the measurement range.
  4. Set Relay Setpoints: For relays R1 and R2, define the activation value (e.g., 5.0 bar) and hysteresis (e.g., 0.2 bar).
  5. Save Configuration: Exit the menu; changes are saved automatically.

CAUTION! Incorrect parameter settings may lead to improper system operation. Verify settings before placing into service.

Technical Specifications

Controls and Interface

Front Panel: 4-digit LCD display, 4 tactile buttons (MENU, UP, DOWN, ENTER), LED status indicator.

Display Symbols: 'A' (Analog output active), 'R1'/'R2' (Relay energized), 'Err' (Fault).

Menu Structure: Access by pressing MENU. Navigate with UP/DOWN, enter submenus with ENTER.
- PArA: Select measured parameter and unit.
- oUt1: Configure 4-20mA output scaling.
- rEL1, rEL2: Set relay trigger points and hysteresis.
- CoMM: Set Modbus address (1-247) and baud rate.
- diAG: View min/max values, reset to defaults.

Default Settings: Parameter: Pressure (PrES), Unit: bar, Address: 1, Baud: 9600.

Connecting to Systems

To PLC/SCADA via Analog: Connect the 4-20mA output to the analog input module of your controller.

To PLC/SCADA via Digital: Connect relay contacts to digital inputs for alarm/control functions.

To Network via Modbus RTU: Connect RS-485 terminals to a Modbus master (PLC, PC with adapter). Ensure unique addresses and proper termination (120 Ω resistor at bus ends).

  1. Power off all devices on the bus before connecting.
  2. Use shielded twisted-pair cable for RS-485 connections. Connect shield to GND at one point only.
  3. After connection, configure the master software with the correct device address and register map (see separate communication manual).

Tip: For long cable runs (>1000m), use repeaters and verify signal integrity.

Configuration & Programming

All settings are made via the front keypad. The device stores configuration in non-volatile memory.

  1. Enter Programming Mode: Press and hold MENU for 3 seconds. The display shows the top-level menu.
  2. Navigate: Use UP/DOWN to scroll through menu items (PArA, oUt1, etc.). Press ENTER to select.
  3. Adjust Values: Within a submenu, use UP/DOWN to change the value. Press ENTER to confirm and move to the next setting, or press MENU to cancel and go back.
  4. Calibration (Advanced): Access the "CAL" menu (requires password 1234). Here you can perform a 2-point calibration using known reference values. This should only be done by qualified personnel with calibrated reference instruments.
  5. Exit: Press MENU repeatedly to return to the normal measurement display.

WARNING! Unauthorized calibration may void warranty and affect measurement accuracy. Record original settings before making changes.

Operational Modes

Normal Measurement Mode: Displays current measured value. The bargraph provides a visual trend. Relay and analog outputs are active according to configuration.

Peak Hold Mode: Can be enabled in the menu. The display shows the maximum value recorded since the last reset.

Valley Hold Mode: Can be enabled in the menu. The display shows the minimum value recorded since the last reset.

Display Off Mode: The backlight can be set to turn off after a period of inactivity to save power.

Maintenance & Calibration

Routine Maintenance: Periodically inspect the device for physical damage, clean the display with a soft, dry cloth, and check terminal tightness (power off).

Recommended Calibration Interval: 12 months, or as required by your quality system.

Calibration Procedure:
1. Connect the device to a stable power supply and a precision reference standard.
2. Access the CAL menu (password 1234).
3. Apply a zero-point reference (e.g., atmospheric pressure for gauge pressure). Select "CAL0" and confirm.
4. Apply a span-point reference (e.g., 10.00 bar). Select "CAL1" and confirm.
5. Exit the menu. The device is now calibrated.

CAUTION! Perform calibration in a controlled environment. Use only appropriate, calibrated reference equipment. Incorrect calibration can lead to significant measurement errors.

Regulatory & Compliance

EMC Directive 2014/30/EU: Complies with emission and immunity standards for industrial environments.

Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU: Complies with safety requirements.

RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU: Complies with restrictions on hazardous substances.
