Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper ventilation.

  1. Connect to Battery: Attach RED alligator clip to positive (+) terminal, BLACK clip to negative (-) terminal of 12V battery.
  2. Secure Inverter: Mount in a dry, well-ventilated location away from heat sources and flammable materials.
  3. Ground Connection: For safety, connect the grounding terminal (if provided) to a proper earth ground.
  4. Verify Polarity: Double-check connections to avoid reverse polarity damage.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock and fire. Ensure all connections are tight and correct. Do not install near fuel or explosive vapors.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the inverter and test with a small load.

  1. Power On: Connect to battery; the Power LED should illuminate.
  2. Initial Load Test: Plug in a low-wattage device (e.g., 60W bulb) to verify operation.
  3. Check Alarms: Ensure no alarm LEDs (Overload, Low/High Voltage) are active under no-load condition.
  4. Monitor Temperature: Allow fan to operate; ensure inverter remains cool during initial run.

CAUTION! Do not exceed the continuous power rating. Start with minimal load to confirm proper function.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Front/Rear Panel: Power Switch, LED Indicators, AC Outlets, DC Input Terminals.

LED Indicators: POWER ON (Green), OVERLOAD/FAULT (Red), LOW VOLTAGE (Red), HIGH VOLTAGE (Red).

Operation: Switch ON to activate inverter. LEDs indicate status: Green = Normal operation; Red = Fault condition (refer to manual). Cooling fan operates automatically based on temperature. No user-adjustable settings; all protections are automatic.

Connecting Devices

Connect standard 120V AC devices to the outlets. Ensure total load does not exceed 400 watts continuous.

  1. Check Device Rating: Verify wattage of each device (e.g., laptop = 60W, TV = 100W).
  2. Power Sequence: Turn inverter ON first, then plug in device.
  3. Surge Consideration: Account for startup surges (e.g., motors); ensure peak rating (800W) is not exceeded.
  4. Unplugging: Turn device off before unplugging from inverter.

Tip: Not suitable for sensitive medical equipment or devices requiring pure sine wave. Check device compatibility.

Operation Guidelines

Designed for intermittent use with appropriate loads.

  1. Monitor Battery: Use with a adequately charged 12V battery (deep cycle recommended).
  2. Avoid Overload: Do not exceed 400W continuous. If Overload LED lights, immediately reduce load.
  3. Ventilation: Ensure fan vents are unobstructed; do not cover inverter.
  4. Shutdown: Turn inverter OFF when not in use to minimize no-load battery drain.
  5. High/Low Voltage: If alarm activates, check battery voltage and charging system.
  6. Runtime: Depends on battery capacity (Ah) and load wattage. Calculate: Runtime (hours) ≈ (Battery Ah * 10) / Load Watts.

WARNING! Do not use with high-drain appliances like hair dryers, microwaves, or space heaters unless wattage is confirmed within limits. Risk of damage or fire.

Safety Features

Built-in Protections: Overload/Short Circuit (shuts off output, resets when cleared), Over-Temperature (fan activation, shutdown if critical), Low Battery Voltage (audible alarm and/or shutdown at ~10.5V), High Battery Voltage (shutdown at ~15.5V), Reverse Polarity (fuse protected).

Care & Maintenance

Keep unit clean and dry. Inspect periodically.

  1. Cleaning: Unplug from battery. Use dry cloth to wipe exterior. Do not use liquids or solvents.
  2. Connections: Check battery clips and terminals for corrosion; clean with wire brush if needed.
  3. Vents: Ensure cooling fan vents are free of dust and debris.
  4. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place if not in use for extended periods.

CAUTION! Do not open the casing. No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.

Troubleshooting

SymptomPossible CauseCorrective Action
No Power LEDBattery dead/disconnected, Blown fuseCheck battery voltage and connections; inspect/replace DC input fuse.
Overload LED OnConnected load too highImmediately reduce total load below 400W; wait for reset.
Low Voltage AlarmBattery voltage below 10.5VRecharge or replace battery; check connections.
High Voltage AlarmBattery voltage above 15.5VCheck vehicle charging system; disconnect until voltage normalizes.
Inverter shuts downOver-temperature, Severe overloadAllow to cool; ensure ventilation; reduce load and restart.
Device not workingIncompatible device, OverloadTest with simple resistive load (lamp); device may require pure sine wave.
Fan not runningNormal at low load, Faulty fanFan activates at high temperature. If overheats and fan is off, discontinue use.

Reset: Disconnect from battery for 30 seconds to reset protection circuits.
