Safety Information

Read all safety information before use to prevent injury or damage.

  1. Do not use the meter if it appears damaged or operates abnormally.
  2. Do not measure voltages exceeding 600V AC/DC.
  3. Use caution when working with high voltage to avoid electric shock.
  4. Do not use the meter in explosive atmospheres or wet conditions.
  5. Always use the proper terminals, function, and range for measurements.

WARNING! Failure to follow safety precautions can result in serious injury or death. Ensure the meter is set to the correct function before connecting to a circuit.

Initial Setup

Prepare the meter for first use.

  1. Inspect the meter and test leads for any visible damage.
  2. Insert the battery: Open the battery compartment, install a 9V battery, and close the compartment.
  3. Connect the test leads: Insert the black lead into the COM jack and the red lead into the VΩmA jack.
  4. Turn the rotary switch to the desired function (e.g., V for voltage).
  5. Power on the meter by pressing the power button (if applicable).

CAUTION! Ensure the meter is off and disconnected from any circuit before changing the battery or test leads.

Specifications

Controls and Display

Front Panel: Rotary function switch, LCD display, input jacks, HOLD button, backlight button.

Display Symbols: AC, DC, Auto, Hold, Low Battery, Overload (OL).

Rotary Switch Positions: OFF, V⎓ (DC voltage), V~ (AC voltage), A⎓ (DC current), A~ (AC current), Ω (resistance), Hz (frequency), F (capacitance), diode/continuity.

Input Jacks: COM (common), VΩmA (voltage/resistance/current up to 200mA), 10A (current up to 10A).

Measurement Procedures

General steps for taking measurements.

  1. Turn the rotary switch to the desired measurement function.
  2. Insert the test leads into the correct jacks (e.g., VΩmA for voltage).
  3. Connect the test leads to the circuit or component under test.
  4. Read the measurement on the display. Use HOLD to freeze the reading.
  5. Disconnect the test leads after measurement.

Tip: For unknown values, start with the highest range and work down. Use the auto-ranging feature for convenience.

Battery Replacement

Replace the battery when the low battery indicator appears.

  1. Turn the meter off and disconnect all test leads.
  2. Remove the protective holster (if attached).
  3. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the meter.
  4. Remove the old battery and insert a new 9V battery, observing polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment and reattach the holster.

WARNING! Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.

Care & Maintenance

Keep the meter in good condition for accurate measurements.

Clean the meter with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.

Store the meter in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Periodically check the test leads for wear or damage and replace if necessary.

CAUTION! Do not expose the meter to water, dust, or excessive humidity. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong impacts.
