Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.

  1. Choose location: Select area with maximum sunlight exposure, minimal shading.
  2. Mount panel: Use included brackets and hardware to secure panel to roof or ground mount.
  3. Angle adjustment: Orient panel toward equator (typically south in Northern Hemisphere).
  4. Electrical connection: Connect MC4 connectors to charge controller or combiner box.
  5. Grounding: Connect frame grounding point to system ground.

WARNING! Do not install during inclement weather. Use appropriate fall protection when working at heights. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and polarity is correct.

First-Time Setup

After physical installation, configure electrical connections.

  1. Verify voltage compatibility: Ensure panel voltage matches system (12V or 24V).
  2. Connect to charge controller: Connect panel output to charge controller PV input.
  3. Check polarity: Red cable to positive (+), black cable to negative (-).
  4. Monitor initial output: Use multimeter to verify open-circuit voltage.
  5. System integration: Configure charge controller settings for auxiliary panel.

CAUTION! Cover panel with opaque material during connection to prevent live voltage. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Specifications

Controls and Connections

Panel has no active controls; operation is passive based on sunlight. Junction box contains bypass diodes and connection points.

Connections: MC4 connectors (positive and negative). Monitoring: Requires external charge controller or monitoring system. Frame: Pre-drilled mounting holes at 6 locations. Grounding: Dedicated grounding point marked with earth symbol.

For system integration: Connect to charge controller with appropriate cable gauge. Use combiner box when connecting multiple panels. Ensure all connections are weatherproof.

Connecting to System

Connect to existing solar power system or as standalone auxiliary source.

  1. Turn off all system power before connecting.
  2. Connect panel to charge controller PV input terminals.
  3. For parallel connection: Use MC4 branch connectors or combiner box.
  4. For series connection: Connect positive of one panel to negative of next.
  5. Secure all cables with cable ties away from sharp edges.

Tip: Use weatherproof conduit for cable runs. Label all connections for future maintenance.

Operation & Monitoring

Panel operates automatically when exposed to sunlight.

  1. Daily operation: No user intervention required; panel generates power during daylight.
  2. Performance monitoring: Check charge controller display for input voltage and current.
  3. Seasonal adjustment: Consider adjusting tilt angle seasonally for optimal performance.
  4. Shading avoidance: Keep panel surface clear of debris, snow, and shading objects.
  5. Temperature effects: Output decreases slightly at high temperatures (approx. -0.4%/°C).

WARNING! Do not disconnect under load. Do not attempt to service junction box while panel is exposed to sunlight.

Safety Features

Bypass Diodes: Prevent hot spots and allow current flow around shaded cells. Weatherproof Construction: IP65 rating protects against dust and water ingress. Tempered Glass: Resists impact and hail damage. Frame Grounding: Dedicated point for proper system grounding.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Visual inspection: Monthly check for physical damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
  2. Cleaning: Use soft cloth or sponge with water; mild detergent if needed.
  3. Rinse with clean water; dry with squeegee or soft cloth.
  4. Clear debris: Remove leaves, snow, or bird droppings promptly.

CAUTION! Clean only when panel is cool (early morning or evening). Do not use abrasive materials or high-pressure water. Never walk on panel surface.
