Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all components are present.

  1. Choose Location: Select a sunny, open area free from shadows.
  2. Unfold Panel: Lay panel flat and extend all solar cell sections.
  3. Adjust Kickstand: Deploy kickstand to angle panel toward the sun (optimal: 30-45 degrees).
  4. Connect Device: Use appropriate cable to connect device to USB-A or USB-C port.
  5. Position for Sun: Adjust panel throughout the day to maintain direct sunlight.

WARNING! Do not expose to extreme weather (hail, heavy rain). Keep away from children and pets. Do not place near heat sources or flammable materials.

First-Time Use

Before first use, fully charge a test device to ensure proper operation.

  1. Initial Setup: Unfold panel in direct sunlight. LED indicator should light up.
  2. Connect Device: Use manufacturer-recommended cable to connect your phone, tablet, or power bank.
  3. Monitor Charging: Device should indicate charging. LED on panel shows green when actively charging.
  4. Optimize Angle: Adjust kickstand every 1-2 hours for maximum sun exposure.
  5. Disconnect: Once device is charged, disconnect cable and fold panel for storage.

CAUTION! Do not stare directly at the reflective surface in bright sunlight. Do not attempt to disassemble the panel.

Specifications

Controls and Ports

All controls and ports are located on the side edge of the panel.

Front/Rear: Solar cells, Kickstand release, Carrying handle.

Side Edge: - USB-A Output Port (Black): For Quick Charge 3.0 compatible devices. - USB-C Output Port (Blue): For Power Delivery compatible devices. - LED Indicator: Green light indicates power generation and active charging. - Charge Controller Housing: Contains MPPT circuitry and protection features.

Status Indicators: LED off = No sunlight/power; LED green = Charging active; LED flashing green = Low power/cloudy conditions.

Connecting Devices

Compatible with most USB-charged devices including smartphones, tablets, cameras, power banks, and USB-C laptops.

  1. Check Device Compatibility: Ensure your device supports USB charging and matches port output (USB-A or USB-C PD).
  2. Use Quality Cables: Use manufacturer-provided or certified high-quality USB cables.
  3. Connect: Insert cable into correct port on solar panel, then connect to device.
  4. Verify Connection: Device should show charging icon. Panel LED should be green.
  5. Maximize Charging: For fastest charging, do not use device while charging and ensure full sun exposure.

Tip: For devices that require more than 60W (like some laptops), charging may be slower or may only maintain battery level during use.

Charging Operation

Optimal charging requires direct sunlight and proper panel orientation.

  1. Sunlight Requirements: Place in direct, unobstructed sunlight. Cloudy conditions reduce output.
  2. Panel Orientation: Angle panel perpendicular to sun's rays using kickstand.
  3. Charging Time: Varies by device battery capacity and sunlight intensity. A smartphone may charge in 2-4 hours in ideal conditions.
  4. Multiple Devices: Can charge one device at a time through either port. Do not use both ports simultaneously for maximum efficiency.
  5. Automatic Shut-off: When device is fully charged, output automatically reduces to trickle charge.
  6. Weather Monitoring: If rain begins, disconnect device and store panel immediately.

WARNING! Do not leave connected devices unattended for long periods. Do not cover panel while in operation as it may overheat.

Safety Features

Over-current Protection: Automatically limits current if short circuit is detected. Over-voltage Protection: Prevents damage from voltage spikes. Temperature Control: Reduces output if panel overheats. Reverse Polarity Protection: Built into charge controller. Weather Resistance: IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets.

Care & Storage

Clean with soft, dry cloth only. Do not use chemicals or abrasives.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe solar cells with dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and debris.
  2. Stubborn Dirt: Dampen cloth with water only, then wipe dry immediately.
  3. Storage: Fold panel properly, secure with strap, and store in cool, dry place.
  4. Long-term Storage: Store with 50-70% charge in devices, and keep away from extreme temperatures.

CAUTION! Do not use solvents, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners. Do not fold when wet. Do not place heavy objects on panel during storage.
