Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Mount in a dry, well-ventilated location.

  1. Connect Battery First: Ensure battery voltage matches controller (12V/24V Auto-detect). Connect positive (+) then negative (-) terminals securely.
  2. Connect Solar Panels: Connect PV positive (+) then negative (-) to controller terminals. Ensure PV open-circuit voltage is within specified limit.
  3. Connect Loads: Connect DC load positive (+) and negative (-) to load output terminals if used.
  4. Connect Temperature Sensor (Optional): Plug into designated port for improved charging accuracy.
  5. Power Up: The controller will auto-detect system voltage and initialize.

WARNING! Always connect battery before PV panels. Disconnect all power sources before making connections. Ensure correct polarity to avoid damage.

First-Time Setup

Power on the controller; use buttons and LCD to configure.

  1. Set Battery Type: Navigate menu to BATTERY TYPE, select appropriate type (e.g., Sealed, LiFePO4).
  2. Set Charging Parameters: Adjust bulk/absorption voltage, float voltage, and equalization settings per battery manufacturer specs (if applicable).
  3. Set Load Control: Configure load output mode (Manual, Timer, Voltage Control) and low voltage disconnect (LVD) settings.
  4. Set System Voltage: Verify auto-detected voltage (12V/24V) is correct.
  5. Set Display & Alarms: Configure backlight timeout and alarm thresholds.

CAUTION! Incorrect battery settings can damage batteries. Refer to battery datasheet.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access menu via buttons on front panel. LCD shows real-time data: PV Voltage/Current/Power, Battery Voltage, Charging Stage, Load Status.

Buttons: MENU, UP, DOWN, ENTER/ESC.

Menu Structure: BATTERY TYPE, CHARGE SETTINGS (Bulk, Absorb, Float, Equalize), LOAD SETTINGS (Mode, Timer, LVD), SYSTEM SETTINGS (Language, Voltage, Display), DATA MONITORING, FAULT HISTORY.

Charging Stages: Bulk (constant current), Absorption (constant voltage), Float (maintenance). Equalization for flooded batteries periodically.

Connecting Devices

Battery: Use appropriate gauge cables. PV: Ensure series/parallel configuration stays under max input voltage. Loads: Ensure total load current is below 20A.

  1. Turn off/disconnect all power sources before wiring.
  2. Use copper cables with proper insulation and crimped terminals.
  3. Install fuses/breakers on battery and PV positive lines as per local codes.
  4. Keep wiring runs short to minimize voltage drop.

Tip: Use a voltmeter to verify polarities before final connection.

Operation Modes

Supports multiple charging and load management modes.

  1. MPPT Charging: Automatically tracks optimal PV voltage for max power.
  2. Battery Charging Stages: Progresses through Bulk, Absorption, Float based on battery state.
  3. Load Control Modes:
    • Manual: Load output manually turned ON/OFF via menu.
    • Timer: Set ON/OFF times for daily load schedule.
    • Voltage Control: Load turns off when battery voltage drops below set LVD, turns back on after recovery.
  4. Equalization Mode: Periodic overcharge for flooded batteries to prevent stratification (user-initiated or automatic).
  5. Silent Mode: For noise-sensitive environments, reduces fan speed (if equipped).

WARNING! Do not disconnect battery while PV is generating power. Disable load before servicing.

Protection Features

Battery Overcharge Protection: Stops charging when voltage exceeds set limit. Battery Over-discharge Protection: Disconnects load at Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) setting. PV & Battery Reverse Polarity Protection: Prevents damage from wrong connections. Short Circuit Protection: On load and PV inputs. Over-temperature Protection: Reduces charge current or shuts down if overheated. Overload Protection: On load output.

Care & Maintenance

Disconnect all power before cleaning. Keep unit free of dust and debris. Check terminal connections periodically for tightness and corrosion. Ensure ventilation is not blocked.

CAUTION! Do not use liquids or compressed air for cleaning. Internal servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only.
