Specifications

Positioning & Angle Adjustment

Optimal performance requires correct orientation to the sun.

Northern Hemisphere: Face panel south. Southern Hemisphere: Face panel north.

Adjust tilt angle seasonally: - Summer: 15-20 degrees from horizontal. - Spring/Autumn: 30-45 degrees. - Winter: 50-60 degrees (to capture lower sun).

Ensure no shadows from trees, buildings, or other objects during peak sun hours (10am-4pm).

Connecting to Camera

Compatible cameras have a dedicated solar input port.

  1. Ensure camera is powered off or in low-power mode.
  2. Locate solar/power input port on camera (refer to camera manual).
  3. Align connector correctly; plug in firmly until it clicks or seats fully.
  4. Secure weatherproof seal (if applicable) to prevent moisture ingress.
  5. Power on camera. Charging should begin automatically in daylight.

Tip: Connection is typically one-way; incorrect orientation will not fit. Do not force.

Charging Status Indicators

LED behavior indicates charging state (location varies by model).

LED StateMeaning
Solid GreenCharging normally (adequate sunlight)
Flashing GreenCharging but sunlight is weak/fluctuating
Off (No light)No sunlight (night) or no connection to camera
Flashing RedFault detected (check connection, compatibility)

Note: Some models may not have an LED; check camera battery level via Reolink app instead.

Maintenance & Care

Periodic cleaning ensures maximum efficiency.

  1. Unplug from camera before cleaning (optional but recommended).
  2. Wipe panel surface with soft, damp cloth to remove dust, pollen, bird droppings.
  3. Use mild soap solution if needed; rinse with clean water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  4. Inspect cable and connector for damage, wear, or loose connections annually.
  5. Check mounting hardware tightness seasonally, especially after storms.

CAUTION! Do not use high-pressure water sprays. Do not disassemble panel.
