Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose optimal location with maximum sunlight exposure.

  1. Select mounting surface: Clean, dry, and curved (if applicable) surface.
  2. Permanent mounting: Use pre-drilled holes with appropriate hardware.
  3. Temporary setup: Deploy kickstands and position toward the sun.
  4. Connect to system: Use MC4 connectors to charge controller or compatible device.

WARNING! Do not install near flammable materials. Ensure all electrical connections are dry before making.

First-Time Setup

Position panel and connect to power system.

  1. Angle adjustment: Use kickstands to achieve optimal tilt (latitude-dependent).
  2. Connection: Connect MC4 connectors to charge controller input.
  3. System check: Verify charge controller indicates solar input.
  4. Orientation: Face panel true south (northern hemisphere) for maximum yield.

CAUTION! Do not bend panel beyond 30-degree arc. Avoid walking on panel surface.

Specifications

Controls and Connections

Panel has no active controls. All management occurs through connected charge controller.

Connections: MC4 connectors (positive and negative clearly marked).

Junction Box: Contains bypass diodes and cable entries. Sealed against moisture.

Kickstands: Flip out and adjust to desired angle. Lock in place.

Connecting to Power Systems

Connect only to a compatible charge controller or device designed for solar input.

  1. Turn off all system components before connecting.
  2. Connect panel MC4 connectors to charge controller solar input ports.
  3. Observe polarity: Red connector to positive (+), black to negative (-).
  4. Secure cables to prevent strain on connections.

Tip: Use extension cables with identical MC4 connectors if needed. Keep cable runs as short as possible.

Operation and Performance

For optimal performance, ensure clean surface and proper orientation.

  1. Daily: Adjust angle seasonally for best sun exposure.
  2. Monitoring: Check charge controller readings for voltage and current.
  3. Shading: Avoid partial shading on any cell to prevent significant power loss.
  4. Output: Expect lower output on cloudy days or in low-light conditions.

WARNING! Do not disconnect under load. Do not short-circuit the panel terminals.

Maintenance & Storage

Regular cleaning maintains efficiency. Store properly when not in use.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe surface with damp, soft cloth. Use mild soap if needed.
  2. Inspection: Check for physical damage, delamination, or connector corrosion.
  3. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Keep flat or rolled (not creased).
  4. Connectors: Keep MC4 connectors covered when disconnected.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners or high-pressure water. Do not fold sharply.

Troubleshooting

SymptomPossible CauseCorrective Action
No power outputPoor connections, shading, faulty controllerCheck all MC4 connections; ensure full sun on panel; verify charge controller function.
Low power outputDirty surface, wrong angle, partial shadingClean panel surface; adjust tilt angle; remove any shading objects.
Physical damageImpact, over-bending, punctureInspect for cracks or delamination. Discontinue use if damage is severe.
Connector issuesCorrosion, loose connectionClean MC4 contacts; ensure firm click when connecting.
OverheatingPoor ventilation, high ambient temperatureEnsure rear of panel has air circulation; avoid dark, enclosed spaces.

Reset: Disconnect from system for 5 minutes, then reconnect.
