Installation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Choose a sunny location in your pond.

  1. Position the Solar Island: Place the floating unit on the pond surface in full sunlight.
  2. Connect the Pump: Ensure the pump is fully submerged and not resting on the bottom debris.
  3. Adjust the Nozzle: Turn the fountain head to achieve desired water pattern.
  4. Optional Fixed Placement: Use the suction cup to attach the pump to a clean, flat surface on the pond floor if desired.
  5. Ensure the solar panel cable is free of knots and fully extended towards the sun.

WARNING! Do not install in water deeper than the maximum cable length. Ensure the pump is never run dry.

First-Time Setup

The unit operates automatically when exposed to sunlight. No electrical outlet is needed.

  1. Initial Test: Place the entire unit in a bucket of water in direct sunlight to verify operation.
  2. Pond Placement: Float the island in your pond. The pump will start automatically when the solar panel receives sufficient light.
  3. Nozzle Adjustment: Fine-tune the fountain spray for optimal height and pattern.
  4. Light Operation (if equipped): LED lights will automatically turn on at dusk if the model includes this feature.

CAUTION! Handle the solar panel with care. Avoid shading from plants or structures for maximum performance.

Specifications

Controls and Operation

The system is fully automatic. The primary control is sunlight exposure.

Automatic Operation: Pump starts when solar panel receives sufficient light; stops at dusk or in shade. LED lights (if equipped) activate automatically at low light levels.

Manual Adjustment: Fountain Nozzle: Rotate to change spray pattern from a single jet to a wider bell shape. Pump Position: Adjust depth or use suction cup for fixed placement to alter water agitation. Floating Island: Can be tethered to a specific location with the included cord (if provided).

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Weekly: Check for debris on the pump intake and solar panel. Gently wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth.
  2. Monthly: Remove the pump from the water. Clean the impeller and intake filter by rinsing with clean water. Do not use chemicals.
  3. Seasonal: Inspect all cables and connections for wear or damage.

Tip: Clean the pump more frequently in ponds with high algae or debris.

Winter Storage

To prevent frost damage, remove the unit from the pond before freezing temperatures.

  1. Disconnect: Remove the entire unit from the pond.
  2. Clean: Thoroughly clean the pump and island as described in Section 7. Allow all parts to dry completely.
  3. Store: Place in its original box or a protective bag. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

WARNING! Never allow water to freeze inside the pump, as this will cause permanent damage.
