Installation

Unpack and inspect all contents. Choose a suitable location for mounting.

  1. Turn off power: Ensure the circuit powering the installation location is switched OFF at the breaker.
  2. Mount the bracket: Use the provided template to mark drill holes. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall using appropriate hardware for your surface.
  3. Wire the light: Connect the light's wires to your household wiring (Black to Hot, White to Neutral, Green or Bare to Ground) following local electrical codes.
  4. Attach the light: Secure the light fixture to the mounted bracket and tighten.
  5. Adjust aim: Point the light and motion sensor head in the desired direction and tighten adjustment screws.

WARNING! Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician. Risk of electric shock exists if installed improperly. Ensure power is disconnected before wiring.

First-Time Setup

After installation, restore power and configure the light settings.

  1. Set the mode switch: Locate the mode switch (ON/OFF/AUTO) and set it to AUTO for sensor operation.
  2. Adjust sensor sensitivity: Use the SENSITIVITY dial to set the motion detection range (MIN to MAX).
  3. Set the light duration: Use the TIME dial to set how long the light stays on after motion is detected (e.g., 10 sec to 10 min).
  4. Test the photocell: Cover the sensor to simulate darkness; the light should be ready to activate upon motion.
  5. Test motion detection: Walk within the detection zone to ensure the light turns on.

CAUTION! Do not look directly into the LED light source. Make all adjustments before final tightening of the fixture.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Primary controls are located on the underside or rear of the light fixture, protected by a weather-resistant cover.

Manual Controls: Mode Switch (ON/OFF/AUTO), Sensitivity Dial (MIN to MAX), Time Dial (10s to 10min).

Operation Modes: ON: Light remains on continuously. OFF: Light remains off, overriding all sensors. AUTO: Light is controlled by the photocell and motion sensor. It will only turn on when dark AND motion is detected.

Sensor Adjustment: The entire sensor head can be pivoted and tilted. Adjust to cover the desired area while avoiding potential false triggers (e.g., moving branches, road traffic).

Connecting to Power

This light is designed for permanent hardwired connection to a standard 120V household circuit.

  1. Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before beginning any wiring work.
  2. Run appropriate outdoor-rated electrical cable (e.g., UF-B) from your power source to the light location.
  3. Connect wires inside the light's junction box: Black (Fixture) to Black (Line) - HOT, White (Fixture) to White (Line) - NEUTRAL, Green/Bare (Fixture) to Green/Bare (Line) - GROUND.
  4. Secure all connections with wire nuts and ensure no bare wire is exposed.
  5. Seal the junction box properly to maintain weather resistance.

Tip: Use a voltage tester to confirm power is OFF before touching any wires.

Operation

Once installed and configured, operation is largely automatic.

  1. In AUTO mode, the photocell evaluates ambient light at dusk. When dark, the system arms the motion sensor.
  2. When the PIR sensor detects movement within its range and sensitivity settings, it sends a signal to turn the light ON.
  3. The light remains ON for the duration set by the TIME dial, then automatically turns OFF.
  4. The sensor will reset and can be triggered again immediately.
  5. To override automatic operation, use the mode switch to ON (constant light) or OFF (light disabled).

WARNING! Do not mount where the sensor's field of view includes a heat source (e.g., barbeque, exhaust vent) as it may cause false triggering.

Safety Features

Photocell: Prevents daylight operation, saving energy. Ground Fault Protection: (If applicable) Consult specifications. Overheat Protection: Internal thermal protection safeguards the LED driver. Weatherproof Design: Sealed construction protects internal components from rain and dust.

Care & Maintenance

Turn off power before cleaning. Periodically wipe the lens and sensor cover with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, snow, or spider webs that can reduce sensitivity and light output. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

CAUTION! Never disassemble the light fixture beyond the user-accessible controls. Internal repairs must be performed by a qualified technician.
