Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose a well-ventilated location.

  1. Position the hub: Place on a flat surface or mount on wall using included brackets.
  2. Connect power: Plug the DC power adapter into the hub and then into a wall outlet.
  3. Connect network devices: Use standard Ethernet cables (CAT5e or higher recommended).
  4. Verify power: Ensure the Power LED illuminates.

WARNING! Do not place in direct sunlight or near heat sources. Ensure proper ventilation.

First-Time Setup

The hub is plug-and-play; no software configuration is required.

  1. Power on: Connect the power adapter; the Power LED should light up.
  2. Connect devices: Plug Ethernet cables from computers, printers, or other network devices into any port.
  3. Verify connection: The Link/Activity LED for each connected port should light up or blink.
  4. Network operation: The hub will automatically forward data packets between connected devices.

CAUTION! Use only the provided power adapter. Incorrect voltage may damage the unit.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

The hub features a simple front panel with LED indicators for status monitoring.

Front Panel:
Power LED (Green): Illuminates when unit is powered on.
Per Port LEDs:
Link/Activity (Green): Steady on indicates a valid link at 100 Mbps. Blinking indicates data activity.
Collision (Amber): Blinks when a data collision is detected on that port (shared media operation).

Rear Panel: DC Power Input jack, 30 RJ45 ports, Wall-mount slots.

Connecting Devices

Connect computers, network printers, servers, or other Ethernet devices.

  1. Ensure the hub and all devices are powered off.
  2. Insert one end of an Ethernet cable into a device's network port.
  3. Insert the other end into any available port on the hub.
  4. Power on the device and the hub.
  5. Observe the Link/Activity LED for that port to confirm connection.

Tip: For connecting to another hub or switch, use any standard port (auto-MDI/MDIX handles crossover).

Network Operation

The hub operates at Layer 1 (Physical layer), broadcasting data to all connected ports.

  1. Data Forwarding: Any data received on one port is repeated out to all other ports.
  2. Speed Negotiation: Each port auto-negotiates to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps with the connected device.
  3. Collision Detection: The hub detects packet collisions on the shared network segment.
  4. Bandwidth Sharing: Total bandwidth is shared among all connected devices.

WARNING! This is a hub, not a switch. Network performance may degrade with high traffic from multiple devices.

Management Features

This is an unmanaged hub. No software configuration, VLAN, QoS, or SNMP support is available. For basic monitoring, rely on the LED indicators.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug the power adapter before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.

CAUTION! Do not open the casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
