Installation

Unpack and inspect all components. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.

  1. Position Solar Panel: Place in direct sunlight, facing the sun at optimal angle.
  2. Connect to Battery: Use alligator clips (red to positive+, black to negative-).
  3. Connect to Vehicle: Plug cigarette lighter adapter into vehicle 12V socket.
  4. Connect USB Devices: Plug USB cable into USB port for direct device charging.

WARNING! Never look directly at the sun or point reflective surfaces at eyes. Ensure all connections are correct before exposing panel to sunlight.

First-Time Setup

Initial configuration for optimal performance and safety.

  1. Battery Connection: Connect to battery before exposing panel to sun.
  2. LCD Display: Press power button to view charging status (voltage, current).
  3. Orientation: Adjust panel angle to maximize sun exposure (approx. latitude angle).
  4. Test Output: Connect a USB device to verify charging functionality.

CAUTION! Do not connect to batteries while panel is in full sun. Connect in shade or cover panel first.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Primary control is through the digital charge controller. Panel has no user-serviceable controls.

Charge Controller LCD Display: Shows battery voltage (V), charging current (A), battery state of charge (%), and error codes.

Buttons: Power (toggles LCD on/off), Mode (cycles through display parameters).

Protection Settings (Automatic): Overcharge, Over-discharge, Reverse Polarity, Short Circuit. No user adjustment needed.

Connecting Devices

Three primary connection methods: Battery, Vehicle Socket, USB.

  1. For 12V Batteries: Use alligator clips. Connect RED to positive (+), BLACK to negative (-).
  2. For Vehicle Charging: Plug cigarette lighter adapter into vehicle's 12V accessory port.
  3. For USB Devices: Use standard USB cable. Connect to USB port on charge controller.

Tip: Always connect the battery/device BEFORE exposing the solar panel to sunlight. Disconnect in the reverse order.

Charging Operation

Supports maintenance charging and active charging of 12V systems.

  1. Bulk Charging: High current when battery is low. LCD shows high amperage.
  2. Absorption Charging: Voltage constant, current tapers as battery nears full.
  3. Float/Maintenance: Low current trickle charge to maintain full battery.
  4. USB Charging: Plug in device; LED on USB port indicates active charging.
  5. Monitoring: Use LCD to monitor voltage (12.6V+ indicates full charge).

WARNING! Do not attempt to charge a frozen battery. Charge in a well-ventilated area. Keep away from sparks or flames.

Safety Features

Integrated protections for safe operation. Charge Controller provides: Over-charge Protection (stops at 14.4V), Over-discharge Protection, Reverse Polarity Protection (alerts on LCD), Short-Circuit Protection, and Temperature Compensation.

Care & Storage

Clean panel surface with soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Store in carrying case in a cool, dry place. Disconnect from battery if storing for extended periods.

CAUTION! Do not walk on or place heavy objects on the panel. Avoid sharp objects. Store away from extreme heat and moisture.
