Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure mounting surface is rigid and aligned.

  1. Mounting: Secure actuator using provided brackets and fasteners. Ensure parallel alignment to load path.
  2. Electrical Connection: Connect 24V DC power to terminals (V+, V-). Observe polarity.
  3. Control Wiring: Connect communication cables (RS-485/CANopen) or analog/pulse wires as required.
  4. Mechanical Connection: Attach load to actuator rod end using appropriate coupling.
  5. Power On: Apply power and verify LED status indicator.

WARNING! Actuator is heavy; use proper lifting equipment. Ensure all connections are secure before operation.

First-Time Setup

Power on actuator; initialize system via control interface.

  1. Homing Procedure: Execute homing routine to establish reference position.
  2. Parameter Configuration: Set operating mode, speed, acceleration, and current limits via software.
  3. Limit Switch Test: Manually jog to verify mechanical and electronic limit functionality.
  4. Load Test: Run actuator through full stroke with no load, then with intended load.

CAUTION! Keep clear of moving parts during setup. Verify emergency stop functionality.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access parameters via configuration software or teach pendant. Status Indicators: Power (green), Fault (red), Communication (yellow).

Control Inputs: Enable, Fault Reset, Home, Jog+, Jog-.

Configuration Parameters: Operating mode, max speed, acceleration/deceleration, current limit, homing method, soft limits, communication address, baud rate. Status Monitoring: Position, velocity, current, temperature, error codes.

Connecting Devices

Power: 24V DC supply. Control: PLC, motion controller, or PC via RS-485/CANopen. I/O: External sensors, emergency stop, enable signals.

  1. Turn off power before making connections.
  2. Use shielded cables for communication lines; ground shield at one end.
  3. Connect I/O signals according to wiring diagram (sourcing/sinking).
  4. Select communication protocol and address via DIP switches or software.

Tip: Ensure power supply is adequately rated for peak current demand.

Operation Modes

Supports position, velocity, torque, and homing modes.

  1. Position Mode: Move to absolute or relative target position.
  2. Velocity Mode: Run at specified speed until stop command.
  3. Torque Mode: Apply constant force (current limited).
  4. Homing: Seek reference switch to establish zero position.
  5. Jogging: Manual movement via buttons or software.
  6. Profile Motion: Predefined move profiles with trapezoidal or S-curve acceleration.
  7. Gearing: Electronic gearing to master encoder input.
  8. Position Capture: Latch position on external trigger input.

WARNING! Do not exceed rated load or speed. Monitor temperature during continuous operation.

Programming & Configuration

Use Multifit Motion Suite software or third-party PLC with appropriate protocol. Parameter Backup: Save configuration to file. Teach Points: Record positions via teach pendant. Sequence Programming: Create multi-step motion sequences.

Care & Maintenance

Disconnect power before maintenance. Regularly inspect for wear, clean exterior with dry cloth, lubricate rod per schedule (if applicable).

CAUTION! Do not use solvents or high-pressure sprays. Replace seals if damaged.
