Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure mounting surface is stable and can support fixture weight.

  1. Select Mounting Location: Choose area free from obstructions and with adequate ventilation.
  2. Mount Fixture: Use provided stainless steel brackets and hardware. Secure to surface using appropriate fasteners for material (concrete, metal, wood).
  3. Seal Mounting Points: Apply silicone sealant around mounting holes for waterproof integrity if required.
  4. Route Wiring: Plan cable path from power source to fixture. Use conduit for protection if exposed.

WARNING! Fixture is heavy; use proper lifting techniques or two-person lift. Ensure power is disconnected before installation.

First-Time Setup

After physical installation, proceed with electrical connection and verification.

  1. Verify Power Source: Ensure DC power supply matches 12V requirement and can deliver sufficient current (50A minimum).
  2. Connect Wiring: Strip wire ends, insert into terminal block (Red: Positive+, Black: Negative-, Green/Yellow: Ground). Tighten screws securely.
  3. Polarity Check: Double-check positive and negative connections. Reverse polarity can damage the fixture.
  4. Initial Power Test: Restore power. The LED should illuminate immediately. Check for uniform light output and any unusual sounds.

CAUTION! Use only copper wiring of appropriate gauge (recommended 6 AWG for runs under 20 feet). Ensure all connections are weatherproof.

Specifications

Controls and Connections

This fixture has no user controls on the housing. Operation is controlled by the connected power source (switch, relay, controller).

Terminal Block Connections:

External Control Options: Can be connected to timers, photocells, motion sensors, or DMX controllers via the power line using appropriate switching devices.

Wiring Diagram

Basic connection for direct DC power.

  1. Disconnect all power before wiring.
  2. Run appropriately sized 2-conductor (+ & -) plus ground wire from power source to fixture location.
  3. At fixture, open the waterproof wiring compartment by loosening the gland nuts.
  4. Feed wires through cable gland, ensuring seal is tight.
  5. Connect wires to terminal block as specified in section 6.
  6. Close compartment securely, ensuring gasket is properly seated.

Tip: Use dielectric grease on terminal connections in marine environments to prevent corrosion.

Operation

Designed for continuous operation in harsh environments.

  1. Power On: Apply 12V DC power. Fixture will illuminate at full brightness.
  2. Normal Operation: LED driver maintains constant current; no user adjustment needed.
  3. Thermal Management: Built-in heat sink and thermal protection; fixture will dim if overheated and resume when cooled.
  4. Power Off: Remove power. Allow fixture to cool before handling.

WARNING! Do not look directly at the LED light source. Do not operate with damaged lens or housing. Ensure fixture is properly grounded.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Disconnect power before any maintenance.

  1. Cleaning Lens: Use soft cloth with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  2. Inspecting Seals: Periodically check cable glands and housing gaskets for integrity. Replace if cracked or worn.
  3. Checking Mounts: Ensure all mounting hardware remains tight, especially in high-vibration environments.
  4. Verifying Connections: Inspect terminal block for corrosion or loose wires annually.

CAUTION! Do not open the LED compartment. No user-serviceable parts inside. Tampering voids warranty.
