Safety Information

Read all safety instructions before use.

  1. Electrical Safety: Do not expose the panel or connected devices to rain, snow, or standing water while in use. Keep ports dry.
  2. Heat & Sun Exposure: Avoid leaving the panel or connected devices in direct, intense sunlight for prolonged periods when not in use to prevent overheating.
  3. Device Compatibility: Use only with devices that accept 5V DC input via USB. Do not attempt to charge incompatible batteries or devices.
  4. Inspection: Before each use, inspect the panel, cables, and ports for any damage (cracks, frayed wires, bent connectors). Do not use if damaged.
  5. Children & Pets: Keep away from children and pets. The kickstand and cables can pose a tripping or entanglement hazard.

WARNING! Never look directly at the sun or point the reflective surface of the panel towards eyes. Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the panel. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

Unpacking & Components

Unpack and verify all components are present.

Specifications

Initial Setup & Positioning

For best performance, proper positioning is critical.

  1. Unfold: Lay the panel flat on a stable, clean surface. Unfold all four solar panels completely so they lie in one plane.
  2. Deploy Kickstand: Flip out the integrated kickstand on the back. Adjust the angle to face the sun directly.
  3. Find Sunlight: Place the panel in DIRECT sunlight. Avoid shadows from trees, buildings, or yourself.
  4. Optimal Angle: For best results, angle the panel so the sun's rays hit it perpendicularly (at a 90-degree angle). Adjust throughout the day as the sun moves.
  5. Check Indicator: The LED indicator should light up, showing the panel is generating power.

Tip: Charging speed depends entirely on sunlight intensity. Full, direct sun provides the fastest charge. Cloudy or indirect light will significantly reduce output.

Charging Your Devices

  1. Connect Your Device: Using your own USB cable, connect your smartphone, tablet, or power bank to either the USB-A or USB-C output port on the panel's edge.
  2. Initiate Charging: Most devices will begin charging automatically. Some devices may require you to press a power button on the device or power bank to start charging.
  3. Monitor LED: The LED indicator will show charging status (see Section 8).
  4. Simultaneous Charging: You can charge two devices at once using both output ports. Total combined output will not exceed the panel's maximum wattage.
  5. When Finished: Disconnect your device. Fold the panel for storage.

Note: This panel is designed to charge devices or top up batteries. It may not provide enough continuous power to simultaneously use a power-intensive device (like gaming) while charging it in weak sunlight.

LED Indicator Guide

The single LED light provides status information:

LED StateMeaning
Solid GreenPanel is in direct sunlight and generating optimal power. A device is connected and charging normally.
Flashing GreenPanel is generating power, but sunlight is sub-optimal (cloudy, angled poorly). Charging is slow or intermittent.
No LightInsufficient sunlight to generate power, or no device is connected. Reposition the panel into direct sun.
Flashing RedFault detected. Possible causes: short circuit, device incompatibility, or overheating. Disconnect the device, allow the panel to cool, and reconnect.

Care, Storage & Maintenance

Proper care ensures longevity.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe the solar panel surface with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, dirt, or sand. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water only. Do not use chemicals, abrasives, or pressure washers.
  2. Drying: If the panel gets wet, shake off excess water and allow it to air dry completely before folding and storing.
  3. Storage: Always fold the panel neatly and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not store with heavy objects on top.
  4. Port Protection: Keep the USB output ports covered with the attached rubber flaps when not in use to prevent dust and moisture ingress.

CAUTION! Do not fold or unfold the panel with excessive force. Do not puncture or cut the solar cell surface or fabric.

Troubleshooting

SymptomPossible CauseCorrective Action
LED does not light up in sunPanel not in direct sun; shadow covering cells; severe cloud cover.Reposition panel to full, unobstructed sunlight. Clean panel surface.
Device is not chargingFaulty cable; device not compatible; port flap blocking connection; device battery is full.Try a different USB cable. Ensure cable is fully inserted. Try the other output port. Check if device charges from a wall outlet.
Charging is very slowWeak sunlight; panel at poor angle; two devices drawing power simultaneously.Reposition for maximum sun exposure. Try charging only one device at a time.
LED flashing redOverheating; short circuit; incompatible device.Disconnect device, move panel to a cooler, shaded area for 15 minutes. Reconnect. If problem persists, try a different device.
Panel gets very hotNormal operation in strong sun. This is normal. For safety, do not touch the panel surface for prolonged periods. Ensure connected devices are not in direct sun.

Reset: Disconnect all devices, fold the panel, wait 30 seconds, then unfold and reposition in sun.
