Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure vehicle is parked and ignition is off.

  1. Mount adapter: Use provided bracket to mount in accessible location near hitch.
  2. Connect to RV: Plug 7-way connector into vehicle's RV outlet.
  3. Connect to trailer: Plug trailer's 6-way connector into adapter socket.
  4. Secure wiring: Use zip ties to route wires safely away from moving parts.
  5. Test connections: Verify all plugs are fully seated and locked.

WARNING! Always disconnect from power source before installation. Ensure proper grounding to prevent electrical hazards.

First-Time Setup

After installation, perform initial configuration and testing.

  1. Power check: Turn on vehicle ignition (do not start engine) and verify LED indicators illuminate.
  2. Function test: Activate each trailer function (brakes, turn signals, running lights) and verify corresponding LED response.
  3. Voltage verification: Use multimeter to confirm proper voltage at trailer connector (12V ± 1V).
  4. Ground confirmation: Ensure solid ground connection between vehicle and trailer frames.

CAUTION! Never operate with damaged wiring or connectors. Replace immediately if any defects are found.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

LED indicators provide visual status of all circuits. No physical controls required for normal operation.

LED Indicators: - POWER (Green): Illuminates when 12V power is present - GROUND (Green): Shows proper ground connection - LEFT TURN (Yellow): Flashes with left turn signal - RIGHT TURN (Yellow): Flashes with right turn signal - BRAKE (Red): Illuminates when brakes applied - RUNNING (White): Shows tail/running lights active - REVERSE (Blue): Indicates reverse light circuit active

Protection Features: Automatic overload shutdown, thermal protection, short circuit protection.

Connecting to Vehicles

Compatible with most RV and tow vehicle electrical systems.

  1. Ensure vehicle ignition is OFF before connecting.
  2. Align 7-way blade connector with vehicle socket (pin 1 at top).
  3. Push firmly until click is heard (locking mechanism engaged).
  4. Connect trailer 6-way plug to adapter socket (align keyway).
  5. Rotate locking ring clockwise to secure connection.

Tip: Apply dielectric grease to connectors annually to prevent corrosion and ensure good contact.

Testing and Operation

Regular testing ensures proper operation and safety.

  1. Pre-tow check: Verify all LED indicators function correctly before each use.
  2. Function test: Have assistant verify all trailer lights work properly (brakes, turns, running, reverse).
  3. Load test: With all trailer lights on, check for voltage drop (should be less than 0.5V).
  4. Road test: Perform short test tow to verify stability of connections.
  5. Disconnection: Always turn off vehicle lights before disconnecting adapter.

WARNING! Never tow with malfunctioning lights. Repair immediately before use on public roads.

Safety Features

Built-in protections: Overload protection, short circuit protection, reverse polarity protection, thermal shutdown, waterproof sealing.

Safety protocols: Always disconnect from power source before servicing. Use only approved replacement fuses (30A blade type).

Care & Maintenance

Monthly inspection recommended for heavy users, quarterly for occasional users.

  1. Visual inspection: Check for cracks, corrosion, or damage to housing and connectors.
  2. Connection check: Ensure all plugs seat properly and locking mechanisms function.
  3. Clean connectors: Use electrical contact cleaner and soft brush to remove debris.
  4. Apply protectant: Use dielectric grease on metal contacts to prevent corrosion.
  5. Wire inspection: Check for fraying, cuts, or insulation damage.

CAUTION! Never use petroleum-based lubricants on electrical contacts. Use only dielectric grease specifically designed for electrical applications.
