Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.

  1. Position UPS: Ensure at least 2 inches clearance on all sides for proper airflow.
  2. Connect battery: Remove battery compartment cover, connect battery cables (red to +, black to -).
  3. Connect to AC power: Plug UPS into dedicated 15A/120V wall outlet (avoid extension cords).
  4. Allow initial charge: Leave UPS plugged in for at least 8 hours before first use.

WARNING! UPS contains sealed lead-acid batteries. Do not open batteries. Install in well-ventilated area away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on UPS; observe LCD display initialization.

  1. Initial charge: Ensure UPS remains connected to AC power until battery shows 100% on LCD.
  2. Connect equipment: Plug critical devices into battery backup outlets; non-critical into surge-only outlets.
  3. Configure settings: Use front panel buttons to set sensitivity, alarm preferences, and self-test schedule.
  4. Install software: Connect USB cable to computer and install Eaton Power Management software.

CAUTION! Do not connect laser printers, space heaters, or other high-power devices to battery outlets.
