Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.

  1. Choose Location: Select a clear, sunny area free from shade for maximum efficiency.
  2. Unfold Panel: Lay the case flat, unfasten straps, and carefully unfold the solar panels.
  3. Deploy Kickstands: Extend the kickstands on the back of the panel and adjust the angle to face the sun directly (typically 30-45 degrees depending on latitude and season).
  4. Connect to Device: Use the provided cable to connect the panel's DC output port to your power station or battery's DC input. For USB devices, connect directly to the USB ports.

WARNING! Do not look directly at the sun or expose reflective surfaces to eyes. Do not install near flammable materials or in high-wind conditions without securing the panel.

First-Time Use

Power on your connected device (power station/battery) before connecting the solar panel.

  1. Initial Connection: Ensure the panel is in sunlight. Connect the cable from the panel to your device. The charge controller's LCD should illuminate.
  2. Monitor Output: Check the LCD display on the charge controller. It should show voltage (V) and current (A). Current will vary based on sunlight intensity.
  3. Optimize Angle: Adjust the kickstands periodically to keep the panel perpendicular to the sun's rays for best performance.
  4. Disconnecting: Always disconnect the cable from your device first, then from the solar panel.

CAUTION! Never connect the solar panel output to an AC wall outlet. This will cause severe damage. Only connect to compatible DC inputs.

Specifications

Controls and Connections

The primary interface is the built-in charge controller located on the back of one panel.

Charge Controller LCD Display: Shows real-time data: Input Voltage (V), Charging Current (A), Total Power (W), and status icons for USB activity and protections.

Output Ports:
DC OUT: Main output for charging power stations/12V batteries.
USB-A: For charging phones, tablets, and small electronics.
USB-C: For fast-charging compatible devices (phones, laptops).

Physical Controls: No power button. Charging begins automatically when connected to a compatible load and exposed to sufficient sunlight. The USB ports are always live when in sun.

Connecting to Devices

To a Portable Power Station: Use the included DC-to-DC cable (or appropriate adapter). Connect to the station's "Solar Input" or "DC Input" port.

To a 12V Battery: Use the included alligator clip cables. Connect RED clip to battery positive (+), BLACK clip to battery negative (-). Ensure correct polarity.

To USB Devices: Plug your device's USB cable directly into the USB-A or USB-C port.

  1. Always connect the cable to the solar panel first, then to the device.
  2. Ensure the device is turned on and ready to accept a charge.
  3. Verify connection by checking the controller's LCD for output readings.

Tip: For fastest charging, ensure your power station or battery is not fully charged and that the panel is in direct, unobstructed sunlight.

Optimal Charging Practices

Maximize your solar harvest by following these guidelines.

  1. Sunlight: Position the panel in direct, unobstructed sunlight. Even small shadows can drastically reduce output.
  2. Angle: Adjust the panel angle throughout the day. A general rule: set the angle equal to your latitude.
  3. Cleanliness: Keep the glass surface clean. Wipe away dust, dirt, or bird droppings with a soft, damp cloth.
  4. Temperature: Output decreases slightly in very high temperatures. Ensure good airflow behind the panel.
  5. Compatibility: Verify your power station's maximum solar input voltage and current to ensure safe operation.

WARNING! Do not attempt to disassemble the panel or charge controller. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. High voltage may be present in sunlight.

Safety Features

The integrated charge controller provides multiple protections:

Important: This panel is weather-resistant (IP65), not waterproof. Do not submerge in water or expose connectors to heavy rain. Store in a dry place when not in use.

Care & Storage

Cleaning: Unplug all cables. Use a soft cloth or sponge with mild soap and water to clean the glass surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners or high-pressure water.

Storage:

  1. Disconnect all cables.
  2. Fold the panels carefully back into the carrying case, ensuring no cables are pinched.
  3. Secure the case straps.
  4. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

CAUTION! Do not place heavy objects on the closed case. Do not store with the panel partially unfolded.
