Safety Information

Read all instructions before operating. Generator produces deadly carbon monoxide (CO) gas.

  1. Exhaust Safety: Operate outdoors only, away from windows, doors, and vents.
  2. Electrical Safety: Use grounded cords and proper wattage. Do not overload.
  3. Fuel Safety: Refuel only when engine is OFF and cool. Use fresh, clean gasoline.
  4. Fire Safety: Keep generator at least 3 feet from buildings and flammable materials.
  5. Personal Safety: Wear protective gear. Keep children and pets away.

DANGER! Carbon monoxide is odorless and can kill. NEVER use indoors or in enclosed spaces.

Setup and Assembly

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Attach Wheels and Handle: Follow kit instructions to mount wheels and handle to frame.
  2. Add Engine Oil: Check oil level. Fill with recommended SAE 10W-30 oil to proper level.
  3. Add Fuel: Use clean, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Do not overfill.
  4. Connect Battery (if electric start): Attach cables to battery terminals (red to positive, black to negative).
  5. Ground the Generator: Connect a proper grounding wire from the generator's ground terminal to a grounded rod.

CAUTION! Ensure all assembly bolts are tight. Check for fuel or oil leaks before starting.

Controls and Indicators

Control Panel includes: Engine Switch, Circuit Breaker(s), AC Outlets, DC Outlet, Fuel Valve, Choke, Ground Terminal.

Indicators: Oil Alert Light (flashes when oil is low), Overload Indicator (circuit breaker trips).

Operation Steps:

  1. Engine Switch: Turn to ON position.
  2. Fuel Valve: Turn to ON position.
  3. Choke: Move to CLOSED for cold start, OPEN for warm start.
  4. Recoil Start: Pull starter cord firmly.
  5. After starting, move choke to OPEN position.

Operation Instructions

Starting, Running, Connecting Loads, and Stopping the Generator.

  1. Pre-Start Check: Verify oil and fuel levels. Ensure area is clear.
  2. Starting: Follow control sequence above. Allow engine to warm up for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Connecting Loads:
    • Plug devices directly into outlets or use a heavy-duty, outdoor-rated extension cord.
    • Start generator BEFORE connecting loads.
    • Connect and start largest load first, then add others. Do not exceed rated wattage.
  4. Running: Monitor fuel gauge and indicators. Refuel only when engine is OFF and cool.
  5. Stopping:
    1. Disconnect all loads.
    2. Let engine run for 2 minutes to cool.
    3. Turn Engine Switch to OFF.
    4. Turn Fuel Valve to OFF.

Tip: Calculate total wattage of all connected devices to prevent overload.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures long life and reliable operation.

IntervalTask
Before Each UseCheck oil level, fuel level, and general condition.
First 5 HoursChange engine oil (break-in period).
Every 50 Hours or SeasonallyChange engine oil, check spark plug, clean air filter.
Every 100 HoursReplace spark plug, inspect fuel lines and filter.
Every 300 HoursCheck valve clearance (refer to engine manual).
As NeededClean generator exterior, check all fasteners for tightness.

WARNING! Perform maintenance only when engine is OFF and cool. Disconnect spark plug wire for safety.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents fuel system damage and corrosion.

  1. Short-Term (Less than 30 days): Ensure fuel tank is full to prevent condensation.
  2. Long-Term (More than 30 days):
    1. Add fuel stabilizer to gasoline and run engine for 5 minutes to circulate.
    2. Turn fuel valve to OFF and let engine run until it stops to drain carburetor.
    3. Change engine oil.
    4. Remove spark plug, add 1 teaspoon of oil into cylinder, pull starter cord slowly, reinstall plug.
    5. Clean entire unit and store in a cool, dry place.

CAUTION! Never store generator with fuel in the tank without stabilizer. Gasoline degrades over time.
