Installation & Mounting

Choose an optimal location for camera placement.

  1. Select Location: Place within range of your Wi-Fi network. Ensure a clear view of the area you wish to monitor. Avoid direct sunlight or strong backlight.
  2. Mounting:
    • Use the included bracket and screws.
    • For wall mounting: Mark drill holes, insert wall plugs, screw bracket securely.
    • Attach camera to bracket and adjust the viewing angle.
  3. Angle Adjustment: Loosen the ball joint on the bracket, point the camera as desired, then tighten to secure.

WARNING! Do not install in areas with extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct exposure to weather. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and can support the camera's weight.

Power Connection

  1. Connect the DC plug of the power adapter to the camera's DC IN port.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a standard 100-240V AC wall outlet.
  3. The camera's status LED should light up (usually solid red or blinking during startup).

CAUTION! Use only the provided power adapter. Using an incorrect adapter may damage the camera and void the warranty.

Network Setup

The camera supports both Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet connections.

For Wi-Fi Setup (Recommended First-Time Setup):

  1. Ensure the camera is powered on. The status LED should be blinking, indicating it's in setup mode.
  2. Proceed to the Mobile App Configuration section to connect the camera to your home Wi-Fi network.

For Wired Ethernet Setup:

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the camera's RJ45 port.
  2. The camera will automatically obtain an IP address via DHCP. The status LED will become solid when connected.

Mobile App Configuration

Remote access and control are managed through the dedicated mobile app.

  1. Download App: Search for "Chacon DiO" or scan the QR code from the packaging in your device's app store (iOS/Android). Install the app.
  2. Create Account: Open the app and create a new user account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Add Camera:
    • Tap the "+" or "Add Device" icon in the app.
    • Select "IP Camera" or similar category.
    • Follow the in-app instructions. You will typically be asked to:
      1. Confirm the camera's LED is blinking.
      2. Enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
      3. Hold your phone near the camera to allow it to receive the network credentials via sound signal (or follow alternative QR code method if prompted).
    • Wait for the app to connect and register the camera. This may take 1-2 minutes.
  4. Name Your Camera: Assign a unique name (e.g., "Living Room Cam") for easy identification.

Once configured, you can control the camera from the app.

Features & Settings

Access advanced settings via the gear icon next to your camera in the app.

Storage Setup

Video can be stored locally on a microSD card or in the cloud (subscription may be required).

Local Storage (microSD Card):

  1. Power off the camera.
  2. Insert a compatible microSD card (Class 10 or above, up to 128GB) into the slot.
  3. Power the camera back on.
  4. In the app settings, go to Storage settings and format the card through the app.
  5. Choose recording mode: Continuous, Motion-Triggered, or Scheduled.

Cloud Storage: Refer to in-app prompts to subscribe and set up cloud recording features.

Troubleshooting
