Safety Instructions

Important warnings to prevent injury and damage to the device.

  1. Never look directly at the sun through the telescope or finderscope without a proper solar filter. Permanent eye damage can occur instantly.
  2. Use the telescope outdoors only. Do not use near flammable materials or gases.
  3. Ensure the tripod is on stable, level ground before use to prevent tipping.
  4. Handle optical components by their edges. Avoid touching glass surfaces.
  5. Keep small parts away from children to prevent choking hazards.

WARNING! The sun's rays focused through optical instruments can cause fires. Never leave the telescope unattended while pointed at the sun, even with a filter.

Package Contents

Unpack carefully and verify all items are present.

Note: Contact your retailer if any item is missing or damaged.

Assembly & Setup

Follow these steps for initial assembly.

  1. Attach Tripod: Extend the tripod legs to a comfortable height and lock them. Attach the accessory tray.
  2. Mount the Head: Place the mount head onto the tripod column and secure it with the central locking knob.
  3. Attach Optical Tube: Slide the tube into the mount's rings or bracket. Tighten the screws firmly but do not overtighten.
  4. Attach Finderscope: Mount the finderscope bracket onto the optical tube. Align it roughly parallel to the main tube.
  5. Insert Eyepiece: Place the diagonal (if applicable) into the focuser, then insert your lowest power eyepiece (e.g., 25mm).
  6. Balance: Loosen the mount locks and adjust the tube's position until it remains in place when released.

Tip: Perform initial setup indoors in a well-lit room to familiarize yourself with the parts.

Controls and Operation

Learn how to use your telescope effectively.

Finding Objects: Use the finderscope. First, point the main tube at a distant terrestrial object (e.g., a telephone pole). Look through the finderscope and adjust its alignment screws until the same object is centered in its crosshairs.

Focusing: Turn the focus knob slowly until the image is sharp. Start with the low-power (25mm) eyepiece.

Tracking: Use the slow-motion control knobs on the mount to follow objects smoothly as the Earth rotates.

Changing Magnification: Switch eyepieces. Lower magnification (higher mm number) gives a wider, brighter view and is easier for finding objects. Higher magnification (lower mm number) provides more detail but is more sensitive to atmospheric conditions.

Maintenance & Storage

Proper care ensures long-term performance.

  1. Cleaning Optics: Use a blower brush to remove dust. For fingerprints, use lens tissue and a drop of lens cleaning fluid designed for optics. Wipe gently in a circular motion from the center outwards.
  2. Storage: Store the telescope in a dry, dust-free place. Use the provided caps to cover all openings. If possible, keep it in its carrying case.
  3. Avoid Moisture: Allow the telescope to reach ambient temperature before use to prevent condensation on the lenses. If condensation forms, let it evaporate naturally.

CAUTION! Do not disassemble the optical tube. Internal cleaning should only be performed by qualified service personnel.
