Assembly & Installation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Attach the base: Align base with heater body and secure with provided screws.
  2. Install heat reflector: Slide reflector onto front of heater, secure with clips.
  3. Attach safety grille: Position grille over burner area, fasten with screws.
  4. Connect gas hose: Hand-tighten regulator to heater gas inlet; ensure connection is secure.

WARNING! Perform assembly in a well-ventilated area away from open flames or sparks. Ensure all connections are tight before use.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, perform a leak check and ensure proper ventilation.

  1. Leak check: Apply soapy water to all gas connections. If bubbles form, tighten and retest.
  2. Ventilation: Ensure area has adequate fresh air flow (minimum 36 square inches of opening).
  3. Clearance: Place heater on non-flammable surface with 3 feet clearance from combustibles.
  4. Ignition test: Follow lighting procedure to verify proper operation.

CAUTION! Never use heater in enclosed spaces without continuous ventilation. Carbon monoxide poisoning can occur.

Controls and Operation

Control knob: OFF, PILOT, and heat settings (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH).

Lighting Procedure:

  1. Ensure gas cylinder valve is closed.
  2. Turn control knob to OFF position and wait 5 minutes.
  3. Open cylinder valve slowly.
  4. Push and turn control knob to PILOT position.
  5. Press and hold piezoelectric igniter button until pilot lights.
  6. Continue holding knob for 30 seconds after pilot is lit.
  7. Turn knob to desired heat setting (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH).

Shutdown Procedure: Turn knob to OFF, then close cylinder valve.

Connecting Gas Supply

Use only standard 20 lb propane cylinder with OPD (Overfill Protection Device).

  1. Turn heater control knob to OFF position.
  2. Ensure cylinder valve is closed.
  3. Connect regulator hose to cylinder valve hand-tight (do not use tools).
  4. Perform leak check with soapy water solution.
  5. Place cylinder upright beside heater, secure if necessary.

Tip: Always check hose for cracks or damage before each use. Replace hose every 5 years or if damaged.

Safety Features

Tip-over switch: Automatically cuts gas supply if heater tilts more than 45°. ODS: Monitors oxygen, shuts off if levels fall below 18%. Flame failure protection: Cuts gas if flame goes out. Always keep ventilation openings clear.

Maintenance & Storage

Monthly: Clean burner ports with soft brush. Check hose for cracks. Annually: Have qualified technician inspect. Storage: Turn knob to OFF, disconnect cylinder, store in dry place covered.

CAUTION! Never store propane cylinder indoors or in temperatures above 120°F. Always disconnect cylinder when not in use.
