Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose an optimal location for sunlight exposure.

  1. Position the Panel: Place on a stable, flat surface or secure using grommets/corners.
  2. Adjust the Angle: Use the kickstand to tilt the panel towards the sun (approx. 30-45° latitude dependent).
  3. Connect to Device: Use provided USB cable to connect panel to your device or power bank.
  4. Check Alignment: Ensure no shadows fall on the panel surface for maximum efficiency.

WARNING! Do not install near heat sources or flammable materials. Ensure the panel is secure in windy conditions.

First-Time Use

Before first use, fully expose the panel to sunlight to initialize.

  1. Initial Charging: Place panel in direct sunlight for 1-2 hours without load.
  2. Connect a Device: Plug your device into the USB port. The indicator LED should light up.
  3. Verify Charging: Check your device's battery icon to confirm it is receiving charge.
  4. Optimal Conditions: For best results, use between 10 AM and 4 PM in clear weather.

CAUTION! Avoid touching the panel surface when it is hot from prolonged sun exposure.

Specifications

Controls and Indicators

Panel features minimal controls. Status is indicated via LED.

Power Indicator LED: - Solid Blue/Green: Panel is generating power, device is charging normally. - Flashing Blue/Green: Power generation is low (cloudy/angled), or device is nearly full. - Solid Red/Flashing Red: Fault condition (short circuit, overload, or overheating). - Off: No sunlight or panel not connected to a load.

USB Ports: Standard USB-A ports. Some models may include USB-C with PD.

DC Port: Typically a 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel connector or Anderson connector for high-wattage models.

Connecting Devices

Connect USB devices directly or connect the DC output to a compatible power station.

  1. For Phones/Tablets: Use a quality USB cable. Plug into the panel's USB port.
  2. For Power Stations/Batteries: Use the provided DC cable. Match polarity (usually center-positive).
  3. Multiple Devices: You can use both USB ports simultaneously, but total output is limited to panel's max wattage.

Tip: For fastest charging, connect only one high-demand device at a time.

Charging & Power Management

Performance depends on sunlight intensity, angle, and weather.

  1. Maximizing Output: Re-adjust panel angle every 1-2 hours to follow the sun.
  2. Checking Performance: A warm panel surface and a solid indicator LED signify good output.
  3. Partial Shade: Even small shadows on a portion of the panel can drastically reduce total output.
  4. Cloudy Days: Output will be reduced but not zero. Charging will be slower.
  5. Battery Health: When charging a power bank, it's best to use a panel with a voltage regulator to prevent overcharging.

WARNING! Do not attempt to charge devices with a higher input voltage than the panel's USB output (5V). Do not submerge the panel or connectors in water.

Maintenance & Storage

Clean the ETFE surface periodically for optimal performance.

  1. Cleaning: Wipe surface with a soft, damp cloth. Use mild soap if needed. Rinse with clean water. Dry with a soft cloth.
  2. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Fold or roll as per instructions. Avoid sharp bends.
  3. Long-Term Storage: Store with a 50-70% charge in the connected battery if applicable. Keep away from rodents.

CAUTION! Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or high-pressure water. Do not disassemble the panel.

Troubleshooting

SymptomPossible CauseCorrective Action
No power output (LED off)Insufficient sunlight, faulty connectionMove to direct sunlight. Check all cable connections. Ensure device is on and accepts charge.
LED flashing redOverload, short circuit, or overheatingDisconnect all devices. Let panel cool in shade. Reconnect one device at a time.
Charging is very slowPoor sunlight, panel angle, dirty surface, or high device consumptionClean panel. Adjust angle towards sun. Try charging a power bank instead of a device in use.
Device stops charging intermittentlyLoose cable, cloud cover, or panel shadingSecure all connections. Ensure no part of the panel is shaded.
