Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure all components are present and undamaged.

  1. Mounting: Use compatible racking system; secure with provided clamps or bolts.
  2. Orientation: Install facing true south (Northern Hemisphere) at optimal tilt angle.
  3. Wiring: Connect panels in series or parallel as per system design using MC4 connectors.
  4. Grounding: Properly ground frame using grounding lug provided in junction box.
  5. Inverter Connection: Connect string to compatible grid-tie or off-grid inverter.

WARNING! Installation should be performed by qualified personnel only. Use proper safety equipment. Do not install during inclement weather.

First-Time Setup

After installation, verify system operation and performance.

  1. Visual Inspection: Check all connections are secure and weatherproof.
  2. System Check: Turn on inverter; verify DC voltage and power production.
  3. Monitoring Setup: Connect to monitoring platform (if applicable) per inverter instructions.
  4. Performance Verification: Monitor initial output during peak sun hours.

CAUTION! Never disconnect under load. Ensure all connections are dry before making electrical connections.

Specifications

Controls and Connections

Junction Box: Contains bypass diodes and positive/negative terminals with MC4 connectors.

Connection Points: Positive (+) and Negative (-) MC4 connectors, Grounding lug.

Monitoring: Compatible with most monitoring systems through inverter interface. No physical controls on panel itself - all control through connected inverter/charge controller.

Connecting to System

Series Connection: Connect positive of one panel to negative of next to increase voltage. Parallel Connection: Connect positives together and negatives together to increase current.

  1. Ensure all system components are turned off before making connections.
  2. Use proper MC4 compatible connectors and tools.
  3. Follow inverter manufacturer's specifications for string sizing.
  4. Properly ground all panels and racking system.

Tip: Use UV-resistant cabling and ensure all connections are weatherproof.

Performance Monitoring

Monitor through connected inverter system or external monitoring devices.

  1. Daily Production: Check inverter display or monitoring app for daily kWh production.
  2. Performance Ratio: Compare actual output to expected output based on irradiance.
  3. String Monitoring: Monitor individual string performance if system supports it.
  4. Alerts: Set up notifications for performance drops or faults.
  5. Data Logging: Review historical data to identify trends or issues.

WARNING! Never attempt to measure voltage or current without proper training and equipment. Solar panels produce electricity whenever exposed to light.

Safety Features

Bypass Diodes: Protect against hotspot formation in shaded conditions. Frame Grounding: Provides path for fault current. Fire Rating: Meets Class C/Type 2 requirements. Arc Fault Protection: Compatible with arc fault circuit interrupters (when used with compatible inverter).

Care & Maintenance

Regular cleaning improves performance. Use soft brush and water only; no abrasive materials or chemicals.

  1. Cleaning: Use soft brush or cloth with water; clean early morning or late evening.
  2. Inspection: Quarterly visual inspection for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
  3. Vegetation: Keep area around panels clear of shading vegetation.
  4. Snow: Allow snow to melt naturally; do not use sharp tools to remove.

CAUTION! Do not walk on panels. Do not use pressure washers. Disconnect system before any maintenance.
