  4. Connect to power: Plug 3-prong cord into grounded GFCI outlet.

WARNING! Never operate pump dry. Always fully submerge before powering on. Ensure electrical connections are dry.

First-Time Setup

Prepare pump for initial use.

  1. Inspect filter basket: Remove and clean any packaging debris.
  2. Test submersion: Place pump in a bucket of water to ensure it is fully submerged.
  3. Power on: Plug into outlet; pump should start automatically if no float switch is connected.
  4. Check flow: Verify water is discharging properly from hose.
  5. Adjust placement: Ensure pump intake is not resting directly on muddy or sandy bottom.

Controls and Operation

Manual operation: Plug in to start, unplug to stop. For automatic operation, connect optional float switch to designated port.

Operation Modes: Manual (direct plug-in), Automatic (with float switch).

Indicator: Thermal protector will shut off motor if overheated; allow to cool for 15 minutes before restarting.

Performance Tips: For maximum flow, keep hose as short and straight as possible. Regularly clean filter basket. Do not pump water exceeding 95°F (35°C).

Connecting Hoses

Use standard 1.25-inch inner diameter discharge hose.

  1. Ensure pump is unplugged and dry.
  2. Slide hose clamp onto hose.
  3. Push hose firmly onto discharge outlet.
  4. Tighten hose clamp securely with screwdriver.
  5. Route hose to desired drainage area, avoiding kinks.

Tip: For threaded connections, use Teflon tape on male threads to prevent leaks.

Maintenance Procedures

Regular maintenance ensures long pump life.

  1. Monthly: Unplug pump, remove from water, clean filter basket of debris.
  2. Quarterly: Inspect power cord and plug for damage.
  3. Annually: Check impeller for obstructions; lubricate O-ring with silicone grease.
  4. Storage: Clean thoroughly, dry completely, store in a dry location.

WARNING! Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance. Do not disassemble motor housing.

Safety Features

Thermal Overload Protection: Automatically cuts power if motor overheats; resets when cooled. Grounded Plug: 3-prong plug for safety. Submersible Design: Rated IPX8 for continuous underwater operation.

Care & Storage

After use, clean pump with fresh water. Dry completely before storage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
