Safety Precautions

Read all instructions before installation. Ensure power is OFF at transformer during installation.

  1. Installation must comply with all local electrical codes.
  2. Use only with a UL-listed, Class 2, 12V AC/DC power source/transformer.
  3. Do not install near swimming pools, spas, or fountains unless specifically rated.
  4. Ensure fixture is properly grounded if required by local code.
  5. Keep flammable materials away from lamp during operation.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock. Disconnect power before servicing. Do not exceed maximum wattage rating.

Installation Tools & Materials

Required tools: Phillips screwdriver, Wire strippers, Pliers, Tape measure, Mallet (for spike).

  1. Check package contents: Fixture assembly, Ground spike, Mounting hardware, Wire nuts.
  2. Plan layout: Determine fixture positions considering light spread and cable routing.
  3. Prepare cable: Run low-voltage landscape cable from transformer to fixture locations.
  4. Ensure transformer is sized correctly for total load of all connected fixtures.

CAUTION! Use only outdoor-rated, direct-burial low-voltage cable for underground runs.

Specifications

Mounting & Positioning

Locate fixture in desired area, ensuring cable can reach transformer.

  1. Insert ground spike into soil at desired location. Use mallet if needed.
  2. Attach fixture to spike: Slide fixture post over spike and tighten locking screw.
  3. Adjust span: Loosen span adjustment knob, extend or retract fixture arm, re-tighten.
  4. Ensure fixture is stable and level.

Tip: For hard soil, pre-drill a pilot hole for the spike.

Electrical Wiring

Connect fixture to low-voltage landscape cable.

  1. Ensure power is OFF at transformer.
  2. Remove wiring compartment cover on fixture base (usually one screw).
  3. Strip 1/2" of insulation from fixture leads and landscape cable conductors.
  4. Connect using provided waterproof wire nuts: Black to black (+), white to white (-).
  5. Push connections into wiring compartment and replace cover securely.
  6. Bury cable at least 6" deep, or use protective conduit if exposed.

WARNING! Polarity matters for LED lamps. Ensure correct (+/-) connections.

Aiming & Adjustment

Adjust beam after installation and power-on.

  1. Loosen the locking collar at the optical assembly.
  2. Tilt head up/down and rotate left/right to desired aim point.
  3. Tighten locking collar firmly to secure position.
  4. For beam spread: Some models have a rotating bezel to adjust from spot to flood.
  5. Check light pattern at night and readjust if necessary.

Note: Allow lamp to cool before handling optical assembly.

Lamp Replacement

Replace lamp when output diminishes or fails.

  1. Turn OFF power and allow fixture to cool completely.
  2. Remove lens/face ring (may require counter-clockwise turn or removal of screws).
  3. Carefully remove old lamp. For bi-pin lamps, push in and turn slightly.
  4. Insert new compatible 12V MR11/MR16 lamp. Do not touch glass of halogen lamps with bare fingers.
  5. Reassemble lens/face ring, ensuring seal is clean and intact.
  6. Restore power.

CAUTION! Use only specified lamp types. Do not exceed 20W.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Periodic maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Turn OFF power before any maintenance.
  2. Clean lens and housing with soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse with clean water.
  3. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  4. Inspect seals and gaskets annually for damage. Replace if cracked or brittle.
  5. Check tightness of mounting hardware and locking collars seasonally.

Tip: Clean fixtures in spring and fall for best light output.
